First 100 trees planted

100 trees planted on the buffer zone between Masingini Forest and the residential area

On 2 March we had our first tree planting day. A group of people from Comoros CCAS MAMOUDZOU came and helped us plant 100 trees on the land that we purchased for our reforestation project.

It was a beautiful day, the Tourism Students of Kawa Training Center/ TUI Academy Zanzibar arrived early at the scene to prepare the ground fro planting.  The group from Comoro Islands arrived a few hours later and after some introductions and explanation we embarked together  on the job of planting the trees. Every tree recieved a blessing from our lovely Comorian friends.

Rainy season has not yet arrived so we are watering them now every morning and evening and we really hope that the rain will come soon to give the trees a good start.
